Utah Olympic Oval.
In 2002 Salt Lake City joined the honored list of cities to host the Winter Olympic games. Operated by the Utah Athletic Foundation, the Oval was built with the intention of hosting Olympic speed skating events. An astonishing 10 Olympic and eight world speed skating records were broken during the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympic Games, giving the Oval the name of "The Fastest Ice on Earth." Today the Oval serves as a public ice skating venue featuring sports programs like speed skating, curling, figure skating and ice hockey. Brigham Young Monument/ Eagle Gate.
Brigham Young led the Mormon pioneers to Salt Lake City in 1847. To commemorate his brave leadership, the Brigham Young Monument was displayed on the Temple Square grounds until it moved to its current location at the intersection of Main and South Temple Street in 1993. Salt Lake County Center for the Arts.
